Orange is helping the Ukrainians in Poland

19/05/2022

Option1 agency’s long term client, ORANGE POLAND, has acted with an immediate response to the war in Ukraine right after it has been started.  The already existing, up and running “Welcome to Poland” campaign consisting of one team present in a rail&bus station in Warsaw (Warsaw West), has been rolled out nation-wide just days after the Russians invaded Ukraine.  The campaign is aimed at providing the refugees basic means of communication – free of charge prepaid sim cards - with their relatives and friends remaining in their home country.

At the very beginning of this campaign, several teams started working on the Polish-Ukrainian border in the close proximity to two major border crossings in fact, in 16 separate locations.

Just a week later, and through the next two and a half months, Option1 teams, consisting of two promoters each, have been located and working in all major railway stations, covering major refugee reception points and temporary accommodation locations in Poland.

At the peak, there were several hundreds of Option1 promoters working in shifts, just to fulfill the campaign needs.

In May, when the total amount of refugees who entered Poland is estimated to be 3,36mln  the scale of this operation has halved in size, which reflects the decreasing influx of refugees when calculated on a per week basis.
