PSfm: Pioneering a New Strategy for Sonos in the BENELUX Region

For years, the well-established and much-loved brand Sonos along with EFMP Dutch partner, PSfm has leveraged in-store promotions to enhance brand visibility, boost sales, and enrich shopping experiences for their leading multi room wireless speaker system. PSfm has been crucial in implementing long-term and short-term activation projects across MediaMarkt electronic retail stores and high-end warehouses like De Bijenkorf throughout Holland.

Adapting to Organizational Changes

During 2022 and 2023 Sonos made the decision to streamline its operations which marked a significant shift for the brand in the BENELUX (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) region. With a significant drop in direct communications with store management and Sonos brand ambassadors there was a notable decline of product knowledge among MediaMarkt personnel, which made it challenging to maintain the quality of POS displays and shop-in-shop materials. Recognising the impact of this, Sonos executives called upon PSfm to devise a strategic response to rectify the issue.

A Renewed Focus on Brand Engagement

In response to Sonos' request, PSfm identified the key areas that required revitalisation which included: enhancing MediaMarkt store personnel's product knowledge and re-invigorating their enthusiasm for the brand, improving the Sonos Rockstar platform, ensuring the quality of POS displays were being met, and building relationship with MediaMarkt store management through increased communication. By focusing on these core elements, PSfm aimed to not only rectify the impact created from the recent changes but to implement processes that would ensure a lasting positive impact.

Revitalizing Brand Presence and Sales

The primary objective of the new plan was to invigorate the Sonos brand within the most critical POS locations, particularly the shop-in-shop areas. This initiative was designed to directly boost sales figures, ensuring Sonos remains a prominent and the preferred choice for consumers within these key retail spaces.

Emulating Success: The PSfm Approach

Drawing inspiration from our previous successful campaigns, such as the Samsung Experience Store in The Mall of The Netherlands, PSfm plans to integrate immersive brand experiences and expert personnel into the Sonos campaign. The focus will be on creating a tangible connection between the brand and the consumer, facilitated by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff.
