"The war for talent has not spared us." Impact Sales & Marketing BeLux

18/02/2022

Like many other European countries, Belgium is facing an employment crisis with 83% of Belgian employers finding it difficult to fill their vacancies. The world’s largest job Board, Indeed, reports 14,3% increase in jobs offers compared to the beginning of January 2020. To compound the problem, 2021 has seen the number of resignations in Belgium increased by 33% compared to 2020, and this number rises to 44% for those under 30.

The war for talent is truly on in the Belgian market, one that is growing faster than those of neighbouring countries.

Despite the challenging employment market,  EFMP Belgian Partners,  Impact Sales Marketing BeLux have managed to secure 96 new sales representatives in 2021 for both permanent and temporary contracts. This has resulted in clients and customers turning to Impact to outsource solutions to help fill the vacancies that their HR department and external agencies were not able to recruit for.

Impact’s success in attracting and retaining talent is not a new initiative. In fact, this was already an important theme for the business long before the pandemic, and  it will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Impact have developed various initiatives to ensure that they are able to provide opportunities and to  accommodate  key criteria that employees look for and value from employers. This includes things such as a personal development plan, opportunities to upskill and gain certifications, and providing a good work life balance. Criteria like flexibility is more important than ever, and equally, the quality of employer  company branding, corporate social responsibility, and factors around sustainability, are all aspects that Impact’s HR teams focus on, with a view to attracting and retaining personnel.

Undoubtedly, the big challenge of finding the right way to retain employees will require creative thinking and an astute awareness of the opportunities and trends that impact and appeal to the future workforce.
